Message & Information from the Instructor


Hi! My name is Mary Scott-Stirn, and I am excited to be bringing you some fun fitness classes that can be modified to fit all levels. As we begin this new journey, we will start with body weight workouts.  These workouts will challenge your body with a combination of cardio and bodyweight strength movements.  We will do intervals – such as Tabata.  Tabata is where the longest you might work is 20 seconds, but don’t let that fool you: your body will be challenged during those 20 seconds.  My goal is to help anyone who is trying to improve their health and fitness, regardless of age or fitness level.  Everyone will be able to work at their own levels, beginners, intermediate, and advanced.  I am so happy to help get you moving! 


I also hope to bring different types of workouts each week.  I love to change things up.  Some ideas I have  include station-type classes, game days, bodyweight strength - which would focus on less conditioning - a couple of kids included classes when your children are home on spring break, and conditioning classes, such as Cardio and core.  I can’t wait to work with everyone! I am eager to hear what others are looking for too.


Here is the plan for the first week. Remember, there are 2 DIFFERENT classes, so you could sign up for one or both. 



9:30 am – Total Body Conditioning – This class will include exercises such as squats, push ups, jumping jacks, sit ups, and more.  We will hit all the fundamental moves, while working the entire body.  I will give options for those who are unable to do some of the moves.


10:30 am – Cardio and Core - Don’t let the word cardio scare you! There are so many great options to get your heart rate up without the high impact, but if you want that higher impact that option will be there too.  We will also focus on the core.  Not all core exercises will have you on the floor.  standing abs are another great way to recruit and work those abs.
